29. june 2010 — London calling
UK, the sugarian dream. wow! we just returned from our trip to the UK – and it was even brighter than promised! during the first life-threatening days of our journey we tried to keep up with British traffic (damned, they drive on the left!) and had a shot of pretty tasty Indian food, right before having the honour to perform on the streets of Watford, Hertfordshire. The show took place in broad daylight, the sun was shining like a good old friend and we hope that we where able to sweeten up the afternoon for all the passers-by, who stayed and enjoyed awhile with us.

Two days later, our journey took a salty turn, when we checked in to our second hotel in Croydon, London (definitely the new Camden), to get ready for the next grand show at The Troubadour. Ah well, we almost forgot – we also checked in for a show at the Townhall, Staines, only to get thrown out again with the words “We don’t do live shows anymore!”

Staines was nasty, but after all, we were even more excited to get on stage on Tuesday 20th at The Troubadour (yeah, okay, we were also a little scared to get kicked again…).

And there it was, our night at The Troubadour and all we remember is a dream of glossy lights, lucid faces and open minds, plunged into the sounds of Sugarland. If that’s not beauty, we don’t know what else it would be! After this great experience, it was about time to spend some downtime, to wander the streets of London, where we were joint by our dear friend Dario, guitarist of Ferbegy?. He took us on a tour through all the nice places, shops and bars and we got a glimpse at what real style is supposed to look like - thanks again, Dario!

Unfortunately, every trip ends at some place and on Friday, 23rd it was already time to say goodbye – but not without a final strike! Before hitting the road again, we played a show at the very chic and ready-for-anything Watershed in Wimbledon, London. Here again, we were welcomed with open arms and enjoyed the sympathy of the British rock n` roll audience.

Oh Great Britain – We had an even greater time and are eager to come back! For us it has been love at first sight – will you welcome us in your warm and dulcet arms again?

21. june 2010 — veni party vici
believe it or not: we won again. get used to it. this time at the international Upload Contest in Bolzano/Italy! in a thrilling two-round battle between initially 12, then 4 bands, we finally had the jury’s votes on our sides. now we can spend 3,000 bucks in a music store of our choice. in addition, we’ll be playing 3 more gigs in Italy, organized by Estragon Booking (Bologna/IT) and last but not least we’re invited to perform at Granittrock Festival in Oslo/Norway. damn, that feels good! parlo italiano? read more!

landslide victory at Rockbuster: the past sunday we played at the Open Ohr Festival in Mainz where we competed in the Rockbuster band contest — which we eventually won. in a very sovereign way, as we were told later that night. thanks a lot to those who were there to support us by having a ball =)

in case you don’t know yet where to spend your holidays: we’ll rock at the «Upload Festival» Bozen/Bolzano (Italy), june 17. so if you won’t make it to «Watford Live!» you should try to be at Upload!

we’re the greatest — so far. why? we won the semi-finals of the «Emergenza» festival in Mainz. one step closer to world domination :P next steps to sweeten up the emergenza-empire are the finals in Frankfurt (Batschkapp). you should be there to vote for us, because as soon as we have fame and money we’ll bring vast amounts of peace to the world and sugar to your souls — far more than Bono or even Nelson Mandela.

speaking of the world: we go international! we’re invited to play at «Watford Live!» festival, july 17. so don’t forget to schedule london on your UK-holidays.

prior to that you should pop in to the «Open Ohr» festival in Mainz, may 23, where you can cross fingers for us in another competition: the Rockbuster, newcomer contest of Rheinland-Pfalz! we want to win, so be there!

we entered the Myspace Featured Artist Voting powered by Max Mutzke — vote dayly!

obviously we did something right: we won the beyerdynamic/regioactive.de Bandcontest — thanks a lot to everyone who voted for us!

our song «leading star» made it on the US compilation «riot on sunset vol. 19». go get it!

in an overwhelming spate of rock-related enthusiasm we accepted some offers to play live at four dates pretty close to each other ending up with kind of a small tour throughout the Rhein/Main/Nahe area. would be great to see you on one or even better some of these shows. we didn’t hesitate to say «yes» to rock n’ roll and neither should you!

you might or might not have recognized that there was a band contest at regioactive.de which offered a slot at the soundattack festival in limburg an der lahn as a prize. whether you knew or not, we’re the band who won — and you’re the one, we want to come! we really do, no fun intended: there will be quite some free tickets and we’ll give ’em away — well, you guessed it — for free!
just send us an eMail with the subject: «me me me, gimme gimme gimme» and if you are one of the chosen people you’ll receive an answer with details about how and where you’ll get your ticket.
the soundattack festival takes place for the first time this year and we are damn proud of being part of it. please come in large numbers!

web site update: the new page «the network» displays links to places where you can find out more about SfS. additionally it turned out that embedding YouTube vidos is like the easiest thing i’ve ever done, so there’s a (not very serious) video you can watch at «the artists» — please do so!

last friday: awesome show in wiesbaden in spite of broken strings and lousy acoustics! performed some new songs with great response and sold some copies of our record.

new web site is online — as you naturely noticed instantly, right? so what’s special? well, nothing so far. the pictures — some of which in coherency with the band, some not — are randomly swaped with every reload of the page. very nice, isn’t it?
there is a «news» page (this very page) where you will be informed about the awesome stuff we’ll do in the future and minor interesting things like this writing.
